Park Road Residence
This is a relatively modest house which sits onto a compact site of 500sqm. The site assumes a historic value due the the rpesence of a mature Pin oak tree and native species. The whole concept revolves round the tree and the micro-environment of ths site. The sanctity of the tree is preservied by incorporating and fine-tuning old details with new materials and contemporary form. The building envelope is designed and positioned to create a dialogue with the tree. Exterior mateirals and finishes has similar intentions. Exposed cedar weatherboard is to compliment the grey bark of Pin Oak. The green tones in the building were dereived from the native tree leaves colour and it is continued into the interior too.
