Selected Project

SPCA Wellington

The REHOME SPCA project relocated Wellington SPCA's main operational centre into a new home in the heritage Fever Hospital on Mount Victoria. The project transformed a disused former hospital building in the Mt Vic green belt to the Wellington SPCA's new Animal Care, Education and Community Centre. The original 1919 masonry building has significant heritage value but had been unused for many years. Building services required almost complete replacement and a seismic upgrade had been recently completed. Architecturally the old buildings provided a very good fit for it's new use and the project was able to achieve sympathetic restoration of the heritage fabric, within tight budget and programme constraints.
