Seatoun Bowling Club

In order to maintain its viability as a valuable community asset the Seatoun Bowling Club invited the nearby Seatoun RSA to share their facilities to create an improved club and community building. The existing entrance area was improved with a ramped approach to the new front doors. Clever use and placement of a new lift gave disabled access to both the ground and first floors from the new entry. The upper level lounge and bar received a significant makeover including new stairs and welcome lobby. The bar servery was completely remodelled with the bar front decor being designed to mimic the ribbon of old war medals. A new extension was constructed at the upper level to accommodate improved toilet facilities. This needed to be sympathetic to the existing form, scale and massing of the club rooms as well as the character of the surrounding residential fabric.
