Cook House
The original two bedroom house was sited on an acre of land high on the Port Hills of Christchurch. While having superb views and sun towards the north and west the house itself no longer met the needs of the growing family and required considerable maintenance. A substantial two storey addition has been created containing a new living space with master bedroom and guest bedrooms below. This new wing has been linked to the original house by a new glazed entry and stairwell. Exposed concrete block both internally and externally contrasts strongly with the new cedar weatherboard that now protects the original house.
