Waiheke House
Jury comments: Skilful manipulation of space and form works successfully to accommodate a house, an art gallery and an artist’s studio on a spectacular coastal property. Its plan, organised around a series of outdoor courtyards, offers experience and protection within this exposed site with apertures orientated to capture specific views and manipulate the interior space. The palette of natural materials defines a series of virtuoso box-like forms that successfully integrate the house into its natural setting.
