Aotea Centre Facade Refurbishment
Stephenson&Turner, along with The Edge, is leading a large-scale renewal of the external building surfaces of one of Auckland’s most recognisable buildings. The Aotea Centre has been an integral part of the City’s landscape since the early 1990’s, but age and end-of-life materials have recently caused wide-spread water ingress issues. Code compliance has required substantially new design work to achieve the brief of a long-term, holistic approach to the whole building envelope. To this end S&T are not only addressing the obvious technical aspects to the absolute best practice, but are helping to bring the existing building into the 21st Century and ensure it retains the title of New Zealand’s premier performance arts centre.
