Good Solutions Guide for Apartments
This is a 135 page design guide publication funded by the Auckland councils, ARC and Ministry for the Environment. The objective of the publication is to provide support for architects and designers who are being asked to design apartment buildings with little previous experience of this building type. SvB were engaged to develop the entire publication, including writing, illustrations, diagrams and photographs. The book has been developed to be a design manual, capable of being read right through or used as a reference guide. Each section is structured with an explanatory introduction; design objectives; better practice methods for achieving those objectives; and quantitative rules of thumb. Six case studies of completed developments are included. Production took place over a 12-month period.
