Mackelvie Street Shopping Precinct
RTA studio's Mackelvie Street project comprises retail, commercial and hospitality tenancies. The building responds to the scale and proportion of adjacent Victorian row shops within the chic shopping precinct of Ponsonby Road, Auckland. By activating the rear of existing heritage buildings, we were able to develop additional retail frontages, and create new laneways and courtyards which have contributed to the regeneration of the area. A white facade veils the forms. The pattern is drawn from the decoration of surrounding heritage buildings.
