Occhiali
An optometrist with a point of difference. In contrast to other optometrists, Occhiali Optical’s brand has a dual focus: to excel in vision services and to provide a premium retail experience. RCG’s design for Occhiali’s first store in Ponsonby won the Supreme Retail Design Award at the NZ Retail Design Awards. When our client began planning a second concept store in Auckland’s ‘Parisian style’ Nuffield Street, they once again approached us with the question “How do you create a sense of luxury, for an optometrist within a confined space?” By installing library-style shelving displays we packed a lot in, which enabled customers to enjoy a more intimate experience, without making the space look confined or cluttered. Floor to ceiling mirrors expanded the space, bounced light and a bold magenta carpet, which evoked the signature Occhiali brand, brought a sense of warmth and energy into the space. In keeping with the elegance and allure of Nuffield Street, our creative design strategy for Occhiali ensured the boutique was visually distinctive and contemporary, yet highly approachable.
