Fraser Cove
In the late 1990’s, Fraser Street was a little known industrial area of Tauranga. In 2000, RCG identified it as a prime location for a large-format retailer needing to expand, to anchor a new shopping centre development. Thinking beyond the ‘big box’, RCG created a vision for a new place and brand; Fraser Cove, which would feature a mix of retailers in a high-quality, suburban environment. Once the plan was fully developed, RCG introduced the vision for the site and the retailer/anchor tenant to an investor client who recognised the intrinsic value in the opportunity. As soon as the deal was completed, RCG worked with the investor to master plan, design, develop and market a new 30,000m2 retail centre for Tauranga City. A previously anonymous industrial location is now known as Fraser Cove – a new suburb with a new town centre.
