Bradley Alteration
As substantial additions and alterations to an existing Victorian villa this project breaks down the constricts imposed by the domestic dwelling. By making complex spatial connections between various new and existing living areas the new scheme tailors these to the owners' way of living through eclectic and intricate detailing. Jury comments: If lively discussion by the jury is the indicator of complex and interesting work then this entry certainly qualifies. This is a subtle and whimsical response that combines elements of surprise, fine detail and an ingenious colour scheme. The vitality and complexities of family life are celebrated in this refreshing antidote to picture perfect consumer culture.
