Macleans College Science + Technology Development
The Science & Technology Development at Macleans College, Auckland replaces a group of outdated buildings accommodating Technology, Science and Graphics. The forms of the new buildings are driven by the schools Whānau House School philosophy and allow teaching and learning practice to be consistent throughout the school. An extensive project planning period has generated layouts that are tailored to the school’s pedagogy, teaching practices and workflows of the individual departments. The specialised equipment required to teach these subjects has been incorporated into the building fabric. The distinctive roof forms of the buildings were generated by the natural ventilation strategy - ¬ high stud and operable windows at high and low level, supported by trickle vents and fans at roof and ceiling level to pull air through the building. buildings.
