Ranch style retreat - Hamilton NZ
People seek Dick Mercer’s ranch style houses and rarely find them. This house demonstrates the continuity of a classic 1970’s architectural style in form and use of materials, and the understanding of how to use Waikato gullies and their view to best advantage. This house, originally designed by Dick Mercer, then extended by Dick in the 1990’s, and then extended again by his son Adam, appears seemless. It respects its rural site on the edge of a gully and allows easy living, in generous spaces. This home shows clearly that style can be timeless and that owners with excellent taste can assist in enhancing a classic home.'
