Apartment Renovation
In 1992, a two storey penthouse apartment was built on top of the original two apartments built in 1967. We were asked by the new owners to renovate all the apartments. This included the addition of a swimming pool, outdoor entertainment area, and motor court for the top apartment. A covered entertainment area overlooks a turquoise pool. A feature return water fall at the end wall, provides sound and focus. The wall hides the pool cover and has a pool shower attached to it. Atlantic granite tiles unify the pool and entertainment area. The large contemporary family kitchen centres around the island bench, which extends into the floating timber breakfast table, harnessing the waterfront views. The dark timber floor, stainless benches and white cabinetry provide high textural contrast. A natural palette of colours have been used in the en-suite bathroom. Simple clean white walls and natural stone floors complement the dark stained timber of the vanity. The vanity is floating so as to give a sense of space to the room.
