Translucent House
Built low to the dunes, snug against the high-tide mark, the Translucent House was designed to merge with nature and share its living spaces with the wild beauty of the beach. In 2007, it won the NZIA Resene Local Award for the Residential Architecture category. The judges commented, "Working with severe height restrictions this elegant house has an excellent relationship to the dune front on which it sits and good flow from the living spaces to both the beach and an internal courtyard".
