Karaka Life
Simplicity with a wow factor was a key part of the brief for this project. Deconstructed and juxtaposed shed forms. reminiscent of a kiwi wool shed, create a number of options for outdoor living in s response to sun, wind and rain throughout the seasons. The morning courtyard directly off the kitchen has become the preferred spot to unwind outdoors. Interior spaces interact while remaining distinct, defined by the large structural elements of exposed glulam beams. This retreat in rural surroundings provides a getaway everyday from city working life.
