Ngaio House
A Wellington arts and craft-style family home required an alteration that would both realise the full potential of the old house but also retain its essence and character. Our solution was a breathtaking, 21-metre-long glazed gallery inserted between the three existing buildings. Along with a new entrance area, this transformed the once residual spaces into a clearly defined and dramatic link throughout the house. “Assured detailing demonstrates that contemporary materials and themes can complement and enhance existing structures in these additions and alterations to an Arts and Crafts style family home,” NZIA Awards Jury, 2008.
