Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square
Dalman Architects were engaged to undertake the interior design of the public area of this new hotel in Christchurch. The brief required us to marry the traditional architecture of the old Warners building that the guests enter through, with the more modern architecture of the new hotel. The ground floor lobby reception features individual reception “pods” specifically developed in conjunction with Accor to provide guests with a more interactive and friendly check-in experience. The first floor bar and restaurant has been split into various spaces to be used at different times of the day and as demand requires. The second floor function rooms have been designed to provide maximum flexibility for conferences, meetings, banqueting and exhibitions. All artwork was selected by Dalman Architects, and the photographs that feature on the first and second floors were taken by Richard Dalman.
