Shimmerlake
Recently completed addition and alterations of an outdated 80’s house located in Kelvin Heights with stunning 360 Degree views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, near Queenstown. The design integrates remnants of the existing house with innovative and simple features to capture breathtaking viewpoints of it’s context. The ground floor and a precast concrete upper ground floor is all that is left of the existing house. The new work includes an open plan living area with large north facing windows opening to a terrace with operable louvres. The house is a play of horizontal forms complemented by two stone towers that anchor the design.
