Selected Project
Galatea House
Architects often dread the thought of adding upper-floor additions to heritage villas, with the issues of marrying the old and new and disruption to the existing ground layout to accommodate stairs. On this project, conceptual design work had been completed by Alan Paul Architects and a previous owner, and when Construkt were asked to continue with working drawings we were blessed with clients who understood the challenges and need to keep the roof design sympathetic to the Residential 1 heritage zoning. Working with a craftsman building team and a detail-driven owner the finished house provides the desired contextual response, enlarged living areas and cosy attic bedrooms and bathrooms.
