Papakura Outdoor Events Centre
The Outdoor Events Facility is part of an overall strategy to develop Central Park into a site for leisure and artistic activities. The integration of the Outdoor Events Facility, the children's playground, and proposed arts & culture centre, are very important to the success of the Park itself. The centre caters to Crowds of up to 5000. The stage includes infrastructure for screening outdoor movies, including drop down screen (16 x 8m). The design is both contemporary and iconic, but not overwhelming to the park environment. The design avoids hangout areas, and adopts construction techniques to mitigate potential vandalism. Designed to be visually attractive to residents and visitors, while addressing lighting and sound issues.
