Selected Project
Cancer Society Lions Lodge
The lodge was designed for the Waikato / Bay of Plenty division of the Cancer Society. The Lodge provides free accommodation and meals for people outside a 30 kilometre radius of Hamilton City who are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy treatment at Waikato Hospital. The users stay between Monday and Friday for a six-week period. The lodge is not a treatment facility but rather a place of rest and recovery while guests undergo treatment. The facility also provides support and security for all residents when undergoing similar treatments. Project success has best been described as a 'home away from home' feeling, the design delivering an architecture of domestic scale.
