The ASB brief was to create a new level of customer experience with a Tier 1 retail branch in order to establish a clear point of difference within the highly competitive retail-banking environment. Respecting both ASB’s and Auckland’s early history we have referenced the historic building and its original ASB bank location within the design. Collaborating with New Zealand designers and manufacturers throughout for furnishings and custom lighting features has enabled us to further enhance the ASB brand experience and New Zealand story. The ceiling design made from acoustic panel blades deals with the convoluted existing space that starts with the tall historic façade entry volume and tapers down to the more intimate customer waiting and meeting areas at the rear. This design solution provides the acoustic privacy required for this upmarket space where high value transactions and confidential discussions will take place while providing a unique linear LED lit ceiling as a feature.
