2021 New Zealand Architecture Awards shortlist

Fifty-two projects across 12 categories have been shortlisted in this year’s Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Architecture Awards.

The projects shortlisted in the prestigious, peer-reviewed national awards include a five Green Star hotel in Auckland, a garden shed in Te Puke, a Kōhanga Reo in Christchurch and a Kāinga Ora development in Rangiora.

All shortlisted projects will be visited between 8 and 18 August by this year’s jury, which is convened by Wellington architect Sharon Jansen, and comprises Gary Lawson (Stevens Lawson Architects,) John Hardwick-Smith (Athfield Architects) and Hamilton's Grant Edwards (Edwards White Architects), who kindly replaced Melbourne-based architect Mel Bright on the jury.

The winners of the New Zealand Architecture Awards will be announced at a ceremony on 7 December.
