Senior Architect - Jasmax

Jasmax | Wellington, or Christchurch | Date Listed: 01/07/2024

- Cultivating Jasmax Design
- Wellington, or Christchurch location

About Jasmax

Jasmax is one of Australasia’s leading architecture and design practices, aiming to produce work mutually beneficial to society and the environment. For 60 years, Jasmax has been at the forefront of bicultural and sustainable design in the Pacific.

The multi-award-winning practice works across a wide range of sectors, including education, residential, civic & community, commercial, health, sports & recreation, transport, and master planning. Jasmax offers multi-disciplinary expertise and integrated design solutions across architecture, interior design, urban design, and landscape architecture.

About the role

We are looking for two Senior Architects to build on our design capabilities, one in Wellington and the other in Christchurch.

These roles involve collaborating with various project teams to ideate, test, evaluate, and refine designs to contribute to Jasmax's Design Excellence process.

Although design-focused, these roles require involvement in all aspects of the project, including all project establishment, documentation, and construction.

What we are looking for

As a registered Architect with ideally 15 plus years of experience, you’ll have a design excellence mindset and expertise within the design concept, preliminary, developed, and detailed phases.

You should be able to combine practical needs with innovative thinking to provide design solutions that exceed expectations and enrich and connect communities.

Your agile mindset should enable you to break down complex design and delivery challenges, generate and test ideas quickly, and move from big picture to detail in an effective, structured manner.

In addition, you should have strong commercial skills to ensure your designs are fit for purpose, and project delivery ready. You enjoy sharing and imparting your design knowledge and seeing others flourish under your guidance.

Why work for us

We offer a design-led studio, and our values reflect our commitment to enhancing the environmental future and cultural identity. We are socially connected, offering weekly industry talks and events, Christmas and mid-year celebrations. Your health and well-being are important to us; we offer flexible working arrangements, EPA services, subsidised social sports teams, and discounted health insurance.

Jasmax is an advocate for equal employment opportunities. We are committed to creating spaces that value diversity and inclusion and are free from discrimination and harassment, not just for our people but for all people. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment regardless of age, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, religion, or disability. We are also Rainbow Tick certified.
