Leadership opportunity for a Registered Architect - Herriot Melhuish O'Neill Architects

Herriot Melhuish O'Neill Architects | Wellington, New zealand | Date Listed: 15/04/2025

Here’s an opportunity for an experienced architect considering the next step in their career and wanting to work towards a leadership role.

Talk to us about joining our design-led practice in Wellington, including the possibility of becoming a shareholder or future director of HMOA.

HMOA has studios in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland – a mid-sized NZIA award-winning practice known for its supportive, inclusive work environment.

We've been in the business for 28 years, and our increasingly diverse portfolio includes a range of projects, from multi-unit developments, heritage projects, commercial interiors and film studios to houses and baches – you’ll never be bored.

We’re interested in speaking with a registered architect who is based in Wellington or would like to move there.

You should have:

• strong communication and leadership skills – or a commitment to working towards a leadership position

• good design strength

• skills and experience in marketing for both the commercial and residential sectors

• comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand building systems and construction methods

• experience and ability to work across a range of project types, including residential and commercial

• flexibility and adaptability

• knowledge and experience of Autodesk REVIT (experience with REVIT is preferred, but training and support is available for suitable applicants).

We can provide you with:
• a flexible, supportive and family friendly environment

• a focused and stimulating team based in our central Wellington studio

• a range of interesting projects to work on

• professional growth with in-house training and support

• plenty of potential to move into a senior leadership role and even become a shareholder or director

We'd love to hear from you – call John Melhuish on 027 2309035 or email your CV (including referees and/or references) and portfolio, with four or five examples of your work to office@hmoa.net.nz

A remuneration package, including potential shareholding, will be discussed in person.

Only New Zealand Residents should get in touch.
