2019 Canterbury Architecture Awards Winner
Clyde Road House
A palatial pad emerges from abstract planes of white and marble, unfolding along a generous suburban site with well-established trees. This is a transformation of formidable scope and scale, and the architect has managed to create a sequence of dramatic spaces that are rich in detail and end user satisfaction. Domestic life and places of retreat are not lost in the spectacle, with smaller spaces carefully connected to their own landscapes.
