McC House
This home’s design references a ‘rural vernacular’ through simple forms and material selection – it is, essentially, an assemblage of rurally inspired shed-like shelters that employ a modest external material palette of shiplap cedar and trapezoidal roofing metal. The two cladding materials play off each other well, with the cedar weatherboards softening entranceways and outdoor rooms that are seamless extensions of interior living spaces. A series of pavilions and linkways create the opportunity to discover viewpoints and sheltered courtyards.
