The elegant street presence of this seaside house is further affirmed through meticulous roofing and a carefully organised entry axis and concrete spine wall. Together, these elements create a strong visual reference for the house and anchor it firmly in the landscape. There are many successful aspects to this house – but perhaps none is greater than the architect’s neat solution for a programmatically complex brief. The house accommodates a home and a busy business in a series of intimately scaled spaces that open up in the best places and in the best ways to celebrate family life and beachside living.
