2019 Wellington Architecture Awards Winner
Wellington College Memorial Hall - Alan Gibbs Centre
This hall, the third on the site, brings the original Memorial Window into a new light in the new school assembly building, a feature that showcases both heritage and functionality. A skin of metal, with brass and aluminium inserts as repeating patterns, wraps the building in a weatherproof cloak. An interweaving of spaces via a grand new stair provides grandeur, continuity and design flair, connecting the old to the new.
