2009 Hawkes Bay/Gisborne Architecture Awards Winner
McHardy House
A new family home on a rural site is a finely handled example of a house with a "Hawke's Bay feel". A well-considered plan delivers a private face to the drive. On the opposite side of the house, living spaces and the master bedroom open up to the sunny northerly aspect, outdoor living spaces and a pool. Bedrooms and utilities ‘plug into’ the back of the pavilion, creating a frame for the entrance court. The owners, who are repeat clients, are clearly very happy with the design.
