2018 Auckland Architecture Awards Winner
Anzac Bay House
This house exhibits a lyrical use of materials and good range of textures within a clearly articulated barn-like form. The sunken kitchen relates well to the window-sill-height lawn and back to the street. The herringbone struts in the ceiling joists are treated like joinery and the stair is a sensuous foil to the simplicity of the main structure. This house has been fine-tuned to the clients’ needs and is lovingly occupied as a consequence.
