2010 Canterbury Architecture Awards Winner
House - Clifton Hill
This sophisticated contemporary home is perched on a cliff top and enjoys sea and alpine views. A dramatic entry bridge draws guests to the top of a well-proportioned three level gallery through which the main circulation stair descends. Careful room placement around the gallery has resulted in a variety of vistas, connections to the garden terraces and cross linkages. The descent culminates at the lower level in a relaxed living zone with lawns and terraces extending to the cliff edge. The house is a strong response to a commanding site, with carefully crafted durable exterior details, and well-integrated technological components.
