2013 Wellington Architecture Awards Winner
Scots College Hodge Sports Centre
The programme and site location allowed the architects to depart from the otherwise rigorous architecture of the campus. The light, extruded form of the building, perched at the edge of the sports field, beckons people to explore the Sports Centre. Once inside, users and visitors are treated to a light-filled space and intriguing indoor/outdoor experience. A limited materials palette and singular form allow the sporting activities to remain prominent while the spatial quality helps lift the spirits of all who enter.
