2013 Wellington Architecture Awards Winner
Royal Society Campus
Much like science and technology buttress the growing knowledge economy, the new headquarters of the Royal Society asserts itself to organise and help stabilise its disparate context. Pitching old against new, black against white and strength against lightness, the design creates a stunning setting for the Royal Society to conduct its business. Technology and art are equally celebrated in this project, and the result prompts us to consider not only how the world is but also how it could be.
