2013 Hawkes Bay/Gisborne Architecture Awards Winner
offSET House, Gisborne
The architect has effortlessly arranged this small family home on a constricted site to provide an expansive southerly outlook to the coast, while welcoming in the sun on the north facing slope through a series of high level windows which allow shafts of sunlight to deeply penetrate circulation and living spaces. OffSET House responds to the summer and winter months, as well as to the needs of public and private life, with clear transitions from airy open areas to enclosed private spaces sheltered from strong sea breezes.
