Maungakawa House
A modern home with a rigorous geometric simplicity creates a sense of place and order in a bushy landscape. The house creates a platform, a stage from which a creative family (and its pets) can observe the ‘big sky’. This house, which is part art gallery and part family home, explores the contrast between ‘the artificial and the natural’ in its bold rectilinearity and use of colour within its organic natural context.
