2013 Western Architecture Awards Winner
Freshmax Distribution Centre
While at first glance this Palmerston North building looks like a mere shed, it is in fact a front for a complex operation which the Architect has researched in great detail. The front façade is modulated to achieve a human scale for the office component while achieving a successful separation from the tall trucks operating only metres away. The thermal insulation and modulation requirements for the project were exacting, and the Architect has demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the firm’s logistics and technical needs in accommodating the facility’s various functions.
