Allendale House Annexe
The comprehensive refit of this Category 1 Italianate, double-bay villa includes seismic upgrading and restoration of many original beautiful historic features. The villa elegantly houses a community trust and expands into a new annex with its own character. The detachment of the light, modern form from the ground and the negative space between the buildings allow the villa to remain prominent and uncluttered. The level of detail in the new building provides depth and modulation to the new façade, avoiding the blandness of a very modern approach and balancing the decoration of the villa.
