2013 Southern Architecture Awards Winner
Alexandra Tent House
A camping analogy provided a novel starting point for this innovative house in a raw, boundless landscape. A composition of tilted industrial planes sits lightly in the landscape waiting for the scrubby thyme to take hold again. The planning is charmingly eccentric and has resulted in unexpected spatial complexity characterised by original relationships between public and private spaces and a warm interior. This is the original “anti-villa”.
