2022 Auckland Architecture Awards Winner
Manurewa High School Business Hub
Intensifying an already densely packed campus, this carefully sited facility has been fundamental to correcting the sites ad-hoc layout. Creating a well-defined, north facing courtyard space and circulation node lays the foundation for future works. The building contains a library and seven teaching spaces and is designed to inspire learning while reflecting the value and strengths of the school community. Aluminium sunscreen fins over the simple cladding provide sun shading and add a culturally symbolic veil. The building creates a visual richness while helping to provide additional way-finding cues on the campus.
