Ted McCoy Award for Education
Dunedin architect Ted McCoy.
For the first time in 2016, a specific award to acknowledge the importance of high quality learning spaces is being conferred.
The award is named for the distinguished Dunedin architect Ted McCoy. During his long career, Ted designed buildings where plan organisation, circulation and massing showed a deep respect for the comfort of occupants. Equally at ease in historic and contemporary urban contexts, Ted’s buildings, with their simple, articulated forms and local materials, illustrate those special architectural qualities of integrity, resonance and endurance.
