2018 Waikato/Bay of Plenty Architecture Awards Winner
Wendell B Mendenhall Building
This project shows new life being respectfully breathed into modernist Latter Day Saint church buildings, and new connections being created between them. High points of this accomplished piece of work include a bright, spacious and welcoming double-height entry lobby and the restoration and incorporation of elements from demolished Latter Day Saint buildings previously on site, which have allowed a sense of history and identity to be retained.
