2018 Western Architecture Awards Winner
Elliott House
Mondrian-inspired cladding is a subtle hint at the dégustation of art awaiting inside the entrance of this house, which hunkers down into the top of a steep slope. Delving further inside, the floor drops away and the volume opens into living areas with views to the Manawatu plains and Ruahine Ranges on the horizon. Outdoor ‘rooms’ to the east and west provide a perfect setting for entertaining and strengthen the connections to the rural landscape beyond.
