For decades, Tony Watkins has been an industry leader, calling our attention to designing and building in a way that nurtures both the physical and spiritual needs of our environment. An inspiring and courageous voice for the practice of architecture, he values and respects our world and its ecosystems.

Tony is a challenger of societal norms, who has made changes to the way we live. He has taken part in numerous national and international forums and provided invaluable advice and guidance by sharing his teachings, his writing, and with his policy work on sustainable development and architecture. He has inspired countless architectural students, architects and the wider New Zealand public to practice and appreciate architecture that is considerate, respectful and humane.
