Selected Project

Australian High Commision Upgrade

The project scope involved the extensive upgrade of building services, replacement of all fenestration, full refurbishment of the chancellery facilities, and significant changes to the public and representation spaces on the ground floor. The building is a significant Thorndon landmark. Clad in white marble tiles, with horizontal bands of reflective glazing, it is a good example of the late international style of the twentieth century. BKBTA’s work retains the character of the building exterior and the significant interior features, including the granite floors and tiled walls of the ground floor spaces with voids to the first floor. The original modernist chandeliers were retained, and the rear balcony is enclosed by full height glazing.
