This recently opened hotel successfully melds a new four-storey structure and the sensitive retrofit of an existing two-storey (circa 1919) commercial building on one of Napier's main streets. Commendably, the architects have retained the existing building and set it off with a restrained colour scheme that reflects the style and grandeur of the period. The interior planning skillfully reworks existing and new floor levels into a plan centered around the lift and stair. Contemporary design elements create the ambiance of a boutique hotel.
