2013 Wellington Architecture Awards Winner
Corrondella
The project is perched in a clearing between a stormwater drain and steep bush-clad hills. Adopting a modular approach that has been refined over many previous projects the architect has woven this house into a close relationship with its site. The Corrondella House provides evidence that cost effectiveness need not be predicated on the mundane. Fenestration offers inspired yet private views and allows sun and light to flood in. The owners have created a warm little bush retreat from which to conduct their busy lives.
