Te Aro Pā Trust Papakāinga Housing
An interesting example of how affordable homes can be delivered for a small community. The papakāinga housing project employed precast concrete panels, precisely configured in a Levin factory before being trucked in, for robustness and simple planning permutations to give the vertical forms energy. Variations in façade treatment, pergolas, timber window boxing and open space integration cleverly mitigate the bulk of the buildings.
