Futuna Chapel Open Weekend & Guided Tours

Saturday 23rd September - 11:00am to 2:00pm
Sunday 24th September - 11:00am to 4:00pm

Futuna Chapel, one of the jewels of Wellington's built heritage, will be opened to the public over the Aotearoa Festival of Architecture weekend of Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September, from 11am daily. 

Trust Chair Nick Bevin will conduct a detailed and personal tour of Futuna Chapel telling the story of Futuna. This story starts in France in 1816 and has been added to significantly over the intervening 206 years.  Come and experience the Life of Futuna. 

An integral component of the tour will be the stories of the Chapel art works by Jim Allen.  Some of these works are embedded in the exterior building fabric of the Chapel.  Jim Allen passed away  9th June 2023 in his 101st year.
